Planks that just rest on a trestle can lift in wind and creep along the rungs under foot traffic. The Total Aluminium Adjustable Plank Clamp fixes your plank deck down onto the trestle, gripping two or three planks at once, so the platform stays exactly where you put it while you work and while you move materials across it.
This is one clamp, sold individually. A single bay has two trestles, so you need two clamps to hold the deck at both ends. Add two to your cart for a standard one bay platform.
Not sure which plank accessory you need? The clamp holds the deck to the trestle. Plank locks join plank to plank. The difference is spelt out further down.
What The Adjustable Plank Clamp Does
- Holds the deck onto the trestle. Stops planks lifting, sliding or walking off the trestle rungs.
- Adjustable width. One clamp opens out to take a two plank or three plank deck, so it covers the way you actually run your planks. Easy to adjust by hand.
- Suits the full Total Aluminium range of trestles and planks.
- Not a load rating item. The clamp is about keeping the deck put. It does not change the plank working load limit. That comes from the planks themselves and, for two planks, from the Plank Lock Set.
- Heavy duty aluminium with a 10 year manufacturer's warranty from an Australian owned and operated supplier.

How many do you need? One clamp per trestle. A one bay platform (two trestles) needs two clamps. Each extra bay adds one more trestle, so add one more clamp per bay if you want the deck held at every trestle. Trestles and planks are not included.
Do You Already Have Plank Clamps?
Check before you order. The Trestle Handrail Kit (THK) includes two plank clamps, which covers one bay. The Trestle Link-Up Kit (TLK) does not include a clamp for the trestle it adds. You only need to buy this clamp if you run planks without the Handrail Kit, or you want the extra trestle on a longer run held down too.
Adjustable Plank Clamp vs Plank Lock Set
Total Aluminium makes two plank accessories and they do different jobs.
- Adjustable Plank Clamp (this product): holds the finished deck down onto the trestle so it cannot lift or slide. Not part of the load rating. Sold as a single clamp, one per trestle, so a one bay platform needs two.
- Plank Lock Set (ALPLSET): joins two planks to each other, side by side, into one deck. This is the part that earns the 225kg and 5.4m two plank rating. Two locks and an Allen key per set, one set per pair of planks.
Most crews running two planks without a handrail kit use both: one lock set to make the deck, two clamps to hold it on the trestles.

- Four dispatch points: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, so your order travels the shortest distance we can manage.
- Trestles and planks: not stocked in WA. Orders for these ship from our eastern states warehouses, so allow extra transit time.
- Dispatch: your order ships within 1 to 2 business days.
- Delivery: most orders arrive within 3 to 6 business days. Remote areas can take a little longer.
