If you're working around switchboards, cabling or anywhere an electrical hazard may exist, an aluminium ladder is the wrong tool. The Indalex TRDSF8 is a 8 step, 2.4m single sided A-frame with non-conductive fibreglass side rails, designed for exactly that work.

The rails are high UV-resistant fibreglass that handles Australian sun without breaking down, and the steps are structural-grade aluminium, keeping the whole ladder strong but manageable at 11kg. Use it freestanding as an A-frame, or lean it against the wall when the job calls for it, with a tool tray top and paint can hook so your gear stays up there with you.
